Cherub is a social discovery app created exclusively for women, making the process of finding friends both safe and enjoyable.
Mums can:
– Share their experiences, join groups and communities, meet nearby women, stay connected, seek support, ask questions, and receive advice.
– Register by providing information such as interests, location, occupation, relevant details about their children, and relationship status.
– Discover other mums with similar characteristics and send connection requests. The app matches them with like-minded women, and users can swipe to connect with those they want to meet. They can chat within the app and arrange real-life meet-ups.
Additionally, mums can host events and invite others. They can also create forums, either public or private, to engage in discussions with other users.

Challenges
- Introducing a feature similar to Tinder's left and right swipe to help mums connect with each other.
- Implementing a 6-tab bar at the bottom of the app to facilitate smooth navigation across multiple screens.
Solution
- We integrated a third-party KolodaView to enable the left and right-swipe functionality for mums looking to form new connections, customising it to fit our design aesthetics.
- Although Apple’s default app design includes a 5-tab bar, we enhanced the navigation experience by implementing a 6-tab bar, making it easier for users to move between views seamlessly.
